We met Pancha Ram Rai during our very first medical camp in his home village of Chachalung, Nepal. With calm determination, remarkable reliability, and a deep sense of responsibility, Pancha helped on site – despite his limited English skills at the time. And yet, his actions spoke volumes: dedicated, trustworthy, and always thoughtful.

A few months later, we asked him if he could imagine taking a job in Austria. His answer was immediate – and full of joy at the opportunity this could bring for him and his family. Even before anything was confirmed, he had already gathered English books to prepare himself for this new adventure.

His employers at the Ennstalerhof quickly realized what a valuable team member they had found. With enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a warm heart, Pancha mastered every task and became an essential part of the team in no time.

But Pancha always thinks beyond himself. He made us aware of pressing social issues in his village – which led us to two young girls in urgent need of support. Together with Pancha, we were able to offer them a new perspective. He accompanied the entire process with care and compassion, regularly visits the girls, and ensures that they are safe and happy in their new environment.

He also took the initiative to renovate the house of the girls’ grandmother, where they had been living in poor conditions.

Another heartfelt project of his was supporting our English teachers, Alexane from France and Nyima from Nepal. Thanks to Pancha’s preparations and organizational skills, they were able to begin their work in Chachalung under ideal conditions. Both of them have told us repeatedly: it would not have worked nearly as well without him.

What truly defines Pancha is not just his helpfulness, but his absolute reliability. No matter where, when, or for whom – if help is needed, Pancha is there.

For all these reasons, we have named Pancha Ram Rai an official ambassador of our foundation.
