Alexane and Nyima Go to School
A First Step Toward Education in Chachalung
We’re happy to share some wonderful news: our education project in Chachalung has officially begun. It’s a small step – but one that holds great promise.
In collaboration with the University College of Teacher Education in Salzburg and supported by the Erasmus+ programme, we’ve been able to reach out to students and teachers interested in spending time in Nepal to teach English – either short-term or for an extended stay.
The first person to take this path is Alexane, a dedicated student from France who learned about our Foundation while studying in Salzburg. With passion, fresh ideas, and the courage to step into the unknown, she immediately expressed a strong desire to join the initiative.
She is accompanied by Nyima, a young man from Nepal with a solid educational background who works with our help seasonally in Austria. To our great delight, he offered to travel with Alexane to Chachalung and assist her throughout the first phase of the project. His excellent English and cultural familiarity make him an ideal partner and mentor on-site.
The two received a warm welcome in Chachalung, and the first lessons with local schoolchildren have already taken place. In addition, there are plans to offer evening English classes for adults, opening up better job opportunities and new perspectives for the community.
We know that this is just the beginning. Education is a journey without a finish line – but each step matters. Alexane and Nyima are taking that step, and we’re walking with them.
Stay tuned – we’ll keep you updated.
